How do I test an eNewsletter issue?

The Newsletter Manager allows you to create e-newsletters manually or automatically based on the rules you set up with ePublishing. We recommend you test each newsletter issue before sending it to your full email list.

To test your newsletter, you will need a mailing list ID if you have integrated a third-party email service provider. Contact your solutions manager with any questions.

1. To access the newsletter issue you'd like to test, click on List & Edit next to Newsletter under Editorial on your dashboard.

Select the newsletter and then pick the issue you'd like to test.

2 To test, Click on Send Test and add your Alternate testing mailing list ID in the box, and click Send.

Please contact your solutions manager if you have questions about mailing list IDs. ePublishing clients that have integrated with third-party email service providers will have mailing list IDs associated with each of their newsletters, including a test list for internal use.

As a safeguard, if you send a test using your live mailing list ID, an error message will be displayed. If you don't enter a Test Mailing List ID, a dummy ID will be added. This may not actually send anything to your ESP, so be sure to enter the correct Test ID.

FOR STAGE ONLY: Contact your project manager to send newsletter.

On your live site, all of the background process that connect to your email service provider are on and newsletters in the queue are sent out every fifteen minutes. Example: 1:00pm, 1:15pm, 1:30pm, 1:45pm.

On STAGE, the background processes must be manually touched off by our team. We are happy to do it for you (after we make sure to clear the queue of any newsletters that shouldn't go out). Contact us via Basecamp, and we'll get this taken care of for you.
